Mrs. S. G. Gilfillan is found dead in bed at hotel today. She died during the night in her room at the Hotel Marting. Mrs. Gilfillan who was Emma Dean before marriage, had been residing in the hotel during the last six years. Her husband died in 1938. Her husband and five children, including Campbell and Dean Gilfillan preceded her in death, but one sister, Ruth Dean of Washington, D. C. survives her. The family resided on south 6th street for years. She was an aunt of Mrs. Parry Lewis of Fort Monroe, Va., and a sister in law of Mrs. Charles Dean of Ironton. Interment in the Woodland Mausoleum.
