Abbie was a great story teller. Baseball was a big part of his life; he played on the semi-pro team, the Lutcher Cardinals. He also coached little league, metro, semi-pro and umpired on all levels. He loved to read western books; his favorite were those by Louis Lamour. He also loved spending time in the yard cutting the grass. Abbie was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church and spent time volunteering for the church. He was a Veteran of the Air Force. Paw Paw Abbie was a sensitive and compassionate man who was not afraid to show his emotions. He loved spending time with his family and would do anything for his wife and children. He had an especially soft spot for all children. His favorite songs to sing while rocking his grandchildren were "Silent Night" and "How Great Thou Art". His favorite expression was "go with the flow" spoken in his broken French accent and his advice to his children was "smile and you will always be beautiful". He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 910 Pierremont Rd., Suite 410, Shreveport, LA 71106.
