Mr. Charles Lewis Tinney, Jr. passed away on June 23, 2012 at the age of 91. He was born on March 23, 1921 to the late Charles Lewis Tinney, Sr. and Anna Mills Tinney. Mr. Tinney was a Methodist and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over forty years. He retired after 30 years from Bordens and then was the owner for 25 years of Shop-in-Save. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, where he received the Victory Ribbon, American Defense Service Medal, American Theater Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Tinney was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Deon Jarred Tinney; wife, Mildred Russom Tinney; son, Paul Tinney; daughter, Sue LaField and sister, Beatrice Bellomy. Survivors include his four daughters, Kathy Tinney and her husband, John, Pat Huckabay and her husband Roy, Kay Smith and Sandra Teel; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
