ALMA E. LARSON (d. 2012)

Alma Edna Larson, 92, passed away peacefully April 4, 2012.
Alma was born April 25, 1919 in Denmark Wisconsin, the only child of Mary
Valenta Kliment and Anton Kliment. Alma's parenss were Wisconsin cheesemakers,
and much of her childhood was spent livng and playing at various cheese
factories. She was educated at country schools in the Manitowoc-Kewaunee county
area. She graduated from Mishicot High School in 1936, where she met Eugene
Larson. Alma and Eugene were married during World War II and settled in Manitowoc.
They raised three daughters (private). Alma graduated from beauty culture school
in 1937 and began her own beauty shop, eventually working for other shops while
raising her family. She later became the beautician for the Manitowoc Health Care
Center until she retired in 1985. She continued to style hair into her mid 80's.
Alma was a lifelong member of the First Prebyterian Church of Manitowoc. She
served on the board of deacons,and in later years, organized her "Crafty Ladies"
group.
She had a deep love for her Czech heritage, and enjoeyd singing and dancing as
a member of the Wisconsin Czechs and the Czech Choraliers until her 90th birthday.
She traved to Czechoslovakia and parts of Europe several times. The love of her
famiy superseded all other interests, and joyous family occasions were celebrated
with sumptuous meals. Her flower gardens were a delight for all visitors.
Alma moved to the city of Kewaunee in 2008 to be closer to her daughers, and spent
the last 1 1/2 years in the loving care of Silver Leaf Manor. She enjoyed attending
the services of the First Methodist church in Algoma, and valued the kindness of
it's members.

Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at a later date. The Jens Family
Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the Larson family. Online condolences may

Alma's family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff at Silver
Leaf Manor and the 4th floor unit at Bellin Hospital for making her last hours on
