Frank Miller Brame was born in Alexandria on Dec. 3, 1913, and he died at his home in Lake Charles on Monday Nov. 1, 2004.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Hardin Brame, and he is survived by two sons, Joe A. Brame and wife Cyndi of Lake Charles and Frank Evans Brame of Godfrey, Ill.; one grand-daughter, Melissa Morris-Brame and husband Monty of Arlington, Texas; and one grandson, Joel Brame and wife Jennifer of Scottsdale, Ariz.

He attended Bolton High School in Alexandria, where his father, Scott M. Brame, was principal. While in high school, he was active in running track (220- yard dash and half-mile) and in scout-ing. After attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, he served as " Mayor For A Day " of Alexandria. He attended Georgia Tech, graduating with a degree in chemical engineering in 1934.

While in college, he was a member of Kappa Alpha and Alpha Chi Sigma fraternities. Upon graduation, he went to work for Mathieson Chemi-cal, becoming head of the instrument department. In 1938, he married Mary Eliza-beth Hardin (" Gal") and began the " study " of law under the tutelage of her father, C. E. Hardin.

In 1941, he was one of the four applicants (out of 22) who successfully passed the state bar exam. He was initially associated with the law firm of Pujo, Hardin and Porter, eventually becoming the senior partner of a local law firm. He was a member of the SWLA bar - he served as president in 1950; the Louisiana state bar; and the American bar. He and his wife were both members of First United Methodist Church.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, in Hixson Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Humphreys will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David McCain, Fred Cappel, Tom Sittig, Reed Mendelson, Don Criglow and Jerry Fewell.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. Thursday. The family would like to give special thanks to Mr. Brame's caregivers, Theresa Sterling, Mary Zeno and " Shel " Morrison.
