Gregory Scott Cagle, 61, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012.

Gregory Scott was born on April 10, 1951 to James and Mary Frances Cagle in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Monterey High School. Greg then graduated with a degree in criminal justice from Lubbock Christian University. He served 10 years with the City of Lubbock Police Department. After his time with the police department he worked in commercial heating and air, insurance, investigator for the Lubbock County District Attorney's Office, and ranching. He had been employed at Lowe's Pay & Save for the last 10 years as Refrigeration Service Manager of the Northern Panhandle. Greg was a loving father, brother, and friend who loved to entertain. He took tremendous pride in his ability to prepare for guests his gourmet cuisines, which rivaled that of any five-star restaurant. His favorite motto, Love people, cook them tasty food, can be found throughout his kitchen. Greg was multi-talented and possessed great knowledge concerning a variety of subjects. Many regard him as someone who could build or fix anything. He was a talented drummer who took great pleasure waking his kids early Saturday morning with live covers of old doo-wop tunes only to make amends with his world-famous omelet. Greg was also an avid hunting and outdoors enthusiast who placed great emphasis on safe and proficient firearm usage. He was a gentleman. He will be greatly missed. Greg was preceded in death by his two parents, James Cagle in 1985 and Mary Frances Cagle in 2008. He is survived by three children, Josh and Kadee Cagle, both of Lubbock, and Chris Cagle of Dalhart, Texas; sister, Cindy Brown and husband Jeff Brown; and niece, Jamie Brown, all of Lubbock.
