Chief Master Sergeant, US Air Force, retired. A recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal, he served as an aerial gunner in WWII; later assigned to the Air Force Academy and was a 31 year resident of Parker. Beloved husband of 62 years to Maxine Lear. Father of Donald L. (Kathleen) Lear, Jr., Gainesville, Florida and Mavis (Donald) Rieck of Centennial. Grandfather of Anne-Marie Strong, Donald (Jamie) Lear, Christa and Jay Walthall. Great grandfather of Christopher Strong and Jordan Lear. Also survived by two sisters, and one brother. Funeral Services at the US Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel, Colorado Springs with Full Military Honors. Interment US Air Force Academy Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, Colorado Affiliate Inc., 2480 West 26th Ave. Denver, CO 80211 in Don's memory.
