At an early age, he removed with his parents from the place of his birth to Ohio, where he married Miss Hannah Bates, February 21, 1843.
He removed to Elkhorn, Wis., August 1843, where he resided until November 1872, when he moved to Jefferson, Iowa.
He came to Nebraska in 1881 and has made his home in the vicinity of Creighton for nearly twenty-one years.
He leaves a widow, three sons and two daughters.
In 1878, he united with the Church of God at Scranton, Iowa and has been an earnest faithful member and a true Christian. He was a loving husband and father, a kind neighbor and an honest upright man.
The funeral service was held in the Methodist Church last Tuesday afternoon and was attended by a vast concourse of sympathizing friends. Rev. J. Narver Gortner was in charge. The remains were laid to rest in the Creighton Cemetery.
The sorrowing friends have the sympathy of the entire community.
