Florence Olive Kehne, the daughter of Lewis and Nellie (Wood) Smith, was born October 27, 1893 at Dow City , IA and died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1993 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton.
Olive came to Creighton by train in 1905. She graduated from Creighton High School in 1912 and taught in rural schools in Knox County for three years. On June 16, 1915 she married August Kehne. To this union four children were born. They lived on farms in the Winnetoon area until retiring to Creighton in 1960. Mr. Kehne died Oct 3, 1964.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Royal Neighbors Lodge.
Survivors include her children and spouses, Lewis and Edna Kehne of Spokane, WA. Mrs. George (Lucille) Bartling of El Cajon, CA, Kenneth and Donna Kehne of Minneapolis, MN and Harold and Shirley Kehne of Winnetoon; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Bernice Johnson of Grants Pass, OR, Genevieve Andersen of Los Angeles, CA and Rena Kocina of Creighton and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, George Bartling, two brothers, Foster and David and a sister, Mrs. Sam (Helen) Clare.
