Ed McDaniel, 82, Dies After Long Illness

Funeral services for Ed McDaniel, 82, who died Monday, Sept. 10 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital, were conducted Thursday afternoon at Hengstler's Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Shaffer of Orchard officiating.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Roger and Donald McDaniel, Frederick and James Milne, Ronald and Lyle Raff.

Mr. McDaniel had been ill for some time and had been hospitalized about six weeks.

John Edward McDaniel, son of James and Cynthia McDaniel, was born Feb. 16, 1891, at Ladd, Mo. He married Adeline Harvey May 25, 1918 at O'Neill. Five children were born to them.

They farmed near Page until 1958 when they retired and moved to Creighton. After the death of Mrs. McDaniel in 1966, he made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Jim Haskin, and family. More recently he had lived at the Creighton Care Centre.

Surviving are one son, Arthur of Friend; three daughters, Mrs. David (Evelyn) Milne of Creighton, Mrs. Jim (Lucille) Haskin of Royal and Mrs. Malven (Leona) Raff of Pierce; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; two half sisters, Mrs. Lester (Grace) Harding of Whiting, Ia. and Mrs. Blanche Nilson of Atkinson and three half brothers, Fred Roberts of Atkinson, Lloyd Roberts of Rosebrug, Ore. and Roy Roberts of Cour d'Alene, Ida.

Preceding him in death were his wife, one son, Marlyn, mother, step father and half brother, Walter Roberts.
