Son of Andrew Nelson Britt and Louisa Hazelriggs. Buried next to Mary Jane (Phillips) Britt.

We the members of the Phillips family ,pause to pay tribute to passing of John Claude Britt whom we all loved so much. Uncle Claude was an inspiration to all who knew him. He remarked many times how glad he was to be a part of the Phillips family. Claude was born March 1,1891 and was called home to heaven on July 17,1972. As was the case with aunt Mary,Uncle Claudes christian spirit,his faith ,and his testimony of what Christ meant to him were a shinning symbol of his life and legacy for all of us.
Uncle Claude and Aunt Mary enjoyed a long and happy marriage,and were belssed with six daughters and seven sons. Over the years six son in laws and seven daughter in laws,fifty-one grandchildren,and twelve great grandchildren have joined the family circle. Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with interment in the churchyard. Rev. Andrew Johnson,Rev. Frank Moon,and Rev. Cedrick Banks officiated.
