Carl C. Amelung was the son of Edward Heinrich Carl Amelung and Alice Elizabeth Boss. Like his father, he worked at Prudential Life Insurance. Carl fought in World War I and was gassed by the Germans on the battlefield causing him to be honorably discharged on 3 May 1920 with a 100% disability. He died shortly after returning to the states. He was buried on 02 Aug 1920 in Cave Hill Cemetery.
