Mr. Clarence Morris Mitchell, 72, of the 400 Block of King Street, Portsmouth, VA, a retired electrician, went to be with his Lord in a nursing home.
He was a native of Danville, VA and had retired from the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a Baptist.
Survivors are his wife Sadie Garland Hoskins, daughter Penny J Harward of Suffolk, VA, son T Michael Mitchell of Richmond, VA, sister Sarah Preston Mitchell Jordan of San Antonio, TX, brother Charles Mitchell of Annapolis, MD, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Suffolk with the Reverend T M Frye officiating.
Sturtevant Funeral Home served the family.
