Paul Maxwell Bell, 85, of Loveland, died Aug. 23, 2001, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. He was born Aug. 7, 1916, in Guss, Iowa, to Arthur William Bell and Ruby Elizabeth Maxwell Bell.
He married Edith Rubin on May 24, 1941, in Marysville, Mo.
Mr. Bell was an instrument instructor in Lincoln, Neb., in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He moved to Loveland in 1953 from Corning, Iowa.
Together they owned and operated the Dinner Bell Cafe in Loveland from 1953 to 1970. Mr. Bell managed the King Soopers deli for 20 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church; the Loveland American Legion Post No. 15; and Elks Lodge 1051 B.O.P.E. He and his wife founded the Good Times Dance Club; he was president for nine years. He enjoyed dancing and bowling.
Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Edith D. Bell, of Loveland; two daughters, Sandra Carlson and husband Randy of Loveland, and Debra Rockhold and husband Robert of Loveland; two granddaughters; brother Wendell Bell of Corning; sisters-in-law Verda Lyons of Loveland and Evelyn Kapple of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Gary Lee Bell; a brother, Donald Bell; and a sister, Mavis Whitney.
