Jim Buckels, 80, of Vincennes, Ind., and formerly of Olney, died Monday, June 25, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind.
A graveside service was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg with Pastor Fred Mocus officiating and full military rites performed by Olney veterans.
Mr. Buckels was born January 20, 1932, in Olney, the son of Roy and Dorthy (Bemount) Buckels.
He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of First Church of God in Vincennes, Ind.
Mr. Buckels is survived by his son, Charles E. Buckels, of Vincennes, Ind.; son, James Buckels and his wife, Rhonda, of Plattsmouth, Neb.; son, Matthew Buckels and his wife, Joyce, of Vincennes, Ind.; granddaughter, Elizabeth Buckels, of Noble; grandsons, Wade and Dalton Buckels, of Vincennes, Ind.; and great-granddaughters, Kaylee Goldman, of Noble, and Tristin and Desiny Buckels, of Sumter, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Dorthy Buckels; infant daughter, Margaret Elizabeth; and grandson, T.J. Buckels.
