d. age 39. He was born 13 Jan 1798 at Adams, Berkshire Co., MA, the son of James Eddy and Dorothy Wilbor. He was married about 15 Aug 1821, at Adams, Berkshire Co., MA, to Esther Clark, daughter of Samuel and Polly Clark. They had three children: Samuel Clark Eddy, Delilah Ann Eddy (wife of Elisha L. Yaple of Mendon, St. Joseph Co., MI), and William P. Eddy.

A handwritten note in the memorial record book of Irwin H. Eddy (son of William P.) states:

"This chair was brought from N. Adams, Mass. about 1832. Hand made.

"Man, wife & children came with covered wagon. She rode in chair to Detroit, there traded horses for oxen to drive on to a place near Albion."

The whereabouts of the chair is unknown. Only the note survives.

On 13 June 1836, for $450, John Eddy purchased land on section 20, Concord Twp. In just over 6 months, John died, at 39 years of age, leaving Samuel, age 15, Delilah, age 12, and William, age 6.

On 3 October 1843, for $800, Charles Woodworth of Concord, guardian of Samuel, Delilah and William, sold that land to his son, Bradley Woodworth. Somewhere around that time, Charles Woodworth was married to the Eddy children's mother, Esther.

Charles Woodworth died 20 Jan 1852 and is buried in the West Concord (Red Brick) Cemetery.

Esther (Clark) Eddy Woodworth was married 31 Dec 1854, to John B. Alfred, at St. Joseph Co., MI, She is known to have died 27 Aug 1871, presumably in St. Joseph Co., MI, but no death record found. She is buried Mendon cemetery, Mendon, St. Joseph Co., MI. John B. Alfred died 5 Mar 1880, Leonidas, St. Joseph Co., MI.
