She graduated from Wausaukee High School in 1948.
On February 9, 1952, she married Earl Herden.
She worked for the Aerial Beauty Supply Co. in the 1960's and 1970's as a secretary to the owners. She then retired to become a full time housewife for the family she dearly loved. Snooks loved gardening and her beautiful houseplants.
Verona is survived by one son, Michael and his wife, Therese;
two grandchildren Tanya (Darrin) Oswald and Michael Herden III and two great-grandchildren: Halley and Caitlyn Oswald;
one sister Gen (Dwayne) Guth;
four brothers: Clyde (Sally) Philipps, Gerald (Karen) Philipps; twins Donald (Ardis) Philipps and Douglas (Lorraine) Philipps, one sister-in-law Sue Philipps and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Diane and her loving husband, Earl and a brother Wayne "Moon" Philipps.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral home, Marinette, WI after 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening in the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Hueter officiating. Burial will be in Community Lutheran Cemetery, McAllister, Wisconsin.
