Mary Elizabeth Bergstrom Ingebretsen, "Mimi," was born November 22, 1914 to Dr. Hyrum and Clarissa Dougall Bergstrom in Salt Lake City,UT and was a great-granddaughter of Brigham Young. She passed away peacefully at her home on August 2nd from natural causes. She spent her last days surrounded by those whom she loved the most. She married Robert Rohde Ingebretsen on June 25, 1936, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was faithful and active in the LDS Church, being awarded a pin marking 25 years in the Primary. She also served five years as a volunteer in the Salt Lake Temple from 1995 to 2000. She was at her finest as she bore and raised seven children. She and her husband, dearest Bob, sacrificed and dedicated their lives to raising and rearing their family. They were the best of parents and Mimi taught by word and example how to love Christ and live life by His example. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob; her parents; her eldest son Robert; her siblings Barbara, Julian and Justin; her granddaughter Beth and son-in-law M. Wells Jakeman. She is survived by her children: Lynne, Ann, Susan, James, Richard, David (Jan); 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and our dearest family friend Chie Sugaya. Her profound testimony of Jesus Christ fueled her love for everyone she met. No one who ever entered Mimi's home went away cold, hungry, unloved, or without a "Mimi kiss" on their cheek or forehead. She had an eternal optimism and faith, which were a never-ending source of strength and courage to those around her. She lived with the greatest dignity and grace imaginable, while her great faith, physical strength, and endurance enabled her to overcome physical trials against all odds and expectations. During the last months of her life, her spirit soared and reached ever-greater heights and her example gave us renewed strength and faith in the divine plan of God. Her life truly bore testimony of the goodness of God and the beauty of the Gospel, always giving more than she received, teaching and sharing her faith, strength and testimony. Mimi, we love you and miss you so, so much. We are forever grateful that you have been received into our Heavenly Father's arms, reunited with your beloved Bob and those who have gone before. Services held Friday, August 6th, at the Emigration Stake Center on 2nd Avenue and "K" Street.
