Mrs. Mary Ann Taylor, her husband John and their 7 children moved from Rockingham NC. To Union SC. She later moved again to Gaffney SC, where she worked as a weaver for Hambrick Mills until her retirement then relocated to Union to be with her children that resided there.

She was always neatly dressed and well groomed, an immaculate housekeeper and a wonderful country cook.
Granny Taylor lived with her daughter, Mable Horne for some time, before she passed away at 83 years of age and was predeceased by her husband John and one daughter, Margaret Taylor Hill. She left behind her children, Mable Horne, Viola Williford, Ruby Kennedy, Walter and Clarence Taylor all of Union SC. and William Tillman Taylor, from California.
