John R. Benham was born August 15, 1932, at Cody, NE, to Charles and Ella (Hollers) Benham. He passed away October 7, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Cozad, NE.
He attended school through the eighth grade. Jack kept busy mowing lawns in the summer and cleaning snow off of sidewalks in the winter. He lived most of his life in the Valentine area but moved to North Platte and later Cozad because of health reasons. Jack was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Valentine. He enjoyed Nebraska Football and playing pool at the Senior Citizen Center.
Jack was preceded in death by his Parents, Charles and Ella Benham and Brother, Jerry Benham. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for John R. Benham was held Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at the Presbyterian Church in Valentine. Pastor Tim Oleksy officiated at the 2:00 p.m.service. Burial followed the service at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was honored to assist with the arrangements.
