Shirley Barense, 86, of Zeeland, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 24, 2012.
Shirley was born September 21, 1925, to Jacob and Alyda Meeusen in Zeeland. She graduated from Zeeland High School and later married Ivan Barense. She was preceded in death by Ivan, in 2004, and by her son Gregory, in 2012.
She is survived by her children; Douglas and Judy Barense, Paula and Loren Arnoldink, Thomas and Linda Barense, daughter-in-law Christine Barense, her grandchildren; Curtis and Tammy Barense, Daniel and Beth Barense, Douglas and Suzanne Barense, Chad and Michele Barense, Holly and Jeffrey Shoulders, Shannon and Kevin Dew, Alyson and Greg Reifsnyder, Leslie Arnoldink, Grant and Chasidy Arnoldink, Kerri and Brian Johnson, Kylie and Nicholas Weaver, Kaylin and Joshua Isenga, 23 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Lilas Stadick.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland. The Pastor Norm Buursma will officiate. Visitation will be from 10-11 prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Zeeland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Resthaven or Hospice of Holland.
