J.C. Goody Hurt Fatally In Car Crash
Ideal Milk Company Director Dies in Nashville Crash
Josep C Goody, 76, 2419 West Franklin street, director and stock holder of the Ideal Pure Milk Company, died early yesterday morning in a hospital in Mashville, Tenn., of injuried sustained in an automobile accident near Manchester, Tenn., late Thursday.
Mr. Goody was on his way to Florida with Mr. and Mrs Adam Schenck, Danville, Ill., when the car went into a ditch. He suffered brocken ribs and internal injuries.
He had attended a directors meeting of the milk firm Wednesday. He had planned to remain in Florida three months.
Mr. and Mrs Schenck remain in the Nashville Hospital, where Mr. Schenck has a broken ankle and Mrs. Schenck cuts.
Mr. Goody retired about 20 years ago after operating a tavern for many years at Franklin street and St. Joseph avenue. He also managed the West Side depot for F.W. Cook company. He was a stockholder in the Old West Side bank and a menber of the Eagles, Elks and Owls' lodges.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mary Petri; a brother, Frank of Tobinsport, Ind. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Alexander funeral home and at 3 o'clock at Sacred Heart church. Burial wil be in Locust Hill cemetery. The body will arrive at the funeral home acompanied by Dr. M.W. Rothrock whose wife was a niece of Mr. Goody's wife.
