Born March 14, 1932, at Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Okie and Hattie Gill Ward.
Ms. Sims was a homemaker, was of the Holiness faith and was a lifelong resident of Summers County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. Sims, on Feb. 13, 1998; two sons, Denzil Adkins and Randall Adkins Sr.; three brothers, and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Charles M. Adkins of Maryland and Frank G. Adkins of Hinton; three daughters, Wilma Meadows of Clifton Forge, VA., Patricia Holliday of Lewisburg, Deborah S. Bragg of Hinton; three sisters, Pauline Canterbury of Peterstown, Dixie Conner and Mabel Stoddard, both of Hinton; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 28th at Pivont Funeral Home, Hinton, with the Rev. Ray Martin officiating.
Pallbearers were Alan Horton, J.D. Bowles, Billy Joe Bowles, Dorsy Blackburn and Johnny Miller.
