Elizabeth Schnell Chilton Times August 3, 1907

Died – At the home of her son-in-law, Constant Heiman, near Hayton, on Friday morning Mrs. Elizabeth Schnell died after a brief illness at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 19 days.
Mrs. Schnell was a resident of the town of Eaton and for some weeks had been visiting at the home of her daughter. Friday morning she got up as usual and ate her breakfast, shortly afterwards she suffered a stroke of apoplexy with caused her death. She was born in Dexheim, Darmstedt, Germany and remained in her native home until she grew to womanhood. She was married in Germany to Henry Schnell and in 1853 they came to America and located in the southwestern portion of the town of Eaton, Manitowoc County. Here they were successful in building a substantial home and lived happily until some nine years ago when her husband died. Mrs. Schnell was a kind and loving mother and a true Christian. She was loved and respected by her neighbors and friends. The funeral took place Monday the remains being taken to St. Nazaiaz where services were held at the Catholic Church. Interment in the family lot beside her husband.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Rosa Bushman, of Meeme, Mrs. Constant Heiman of Charlestown, Mrs. Katherine Seipel of Mellen, and Mrs. Emma Gelling of East Brothertown.
