Miss Florence Hooley, a Milwaukee school teacher and society girl, who
lost her life at Eagle River by drowning, was well known to many
Manitowoc people and the family is remembered as former residents of
this city. Miss Hooley is a daughter of George Hooley who was one of the
early day residents of the city having been engaged in business here
years ago. The family removed to Milwaukee and Miss Hooley was a teacher
at the Eastside schools of that city and at Downer College. The body has
been recovered and will be buried at Milwaukee.
