George W. Comstock was born October 16, 1832 in Burlington, Vermont to parents George and Charity (Van Sicklen) Comstock. George removed to Wisconsin settling in Vanville (now Bloomer,) Chippewa County, Wisconsin. George owned a hardware store in Bloomer and several blocks of land. George served with Company E., 2nd Calvary Wisconsin during the Civil War. George Comstock died September 25, 1872.

George first wed Cordelia M. Beebe, daughter of Julius and Lydia Beebe, December 24, 1857. Cordelia was born 1833 in Vermont. She died March 26, 1871 in Bloomer, Chippewa County, Wisconsin. George then wed Jane Amanda Pye, daughter of William and Elizabeth (Jones) Pye, May 28, 1871. Jane was born March 13, 1849 in Indiana. Following George’s death, Jane wed Matthew Mullen, son of Henry and Mary Mullen. Jane died January 12, 1908.

George and Cordelia (Beebe) Comstock had 5 children together: George Comstock, born January 31, 1858; Charles A. Comstock, born 1860, died August 3, 1866 in Bloomer, Wisconsin; William A. Comstock, born May 4, 1865; Albert B. Comstock, born August 8, 1867; and, Mary Belle Comstock, born 1870, died April 26, 1871. George, Cordelia, Charles and Mary Belle Comstock are buried at Bloomer City Cemetery, Bloomer, Chippewa County, Wisconsin.

George and Jane (Pye) Comstock had one child together, Clarence Henry Comstock. Clarence was born March 5, 1872 in Bloomer, Chippewa County, Wisconsin; and died March 10, 1929 in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin.
