He was born on Nov. 19, 1912, in Deer Park, the son of William and Anna (Oak) Albertson. He attended grade school in Deer Park and later Cloverleaf School north of Baldwin.
On March 30, 1934, he married Eleanor Albrecht at Zion Lutheran Parsonage by the Rev. Lewis in Woodville. They had two children: Donald and Pat Albertson and Patty and Donald Brathol.
Harris and Eleanor farmed for 39 years north of Woodville. He also did mechanical work at the Pontiac garage in Woodville and did carpentry work.
He worked for his brother, Norman, who had the River Falls Insulation business. He was a hard worker, always giving of himself and willing to lend a helping hand.
In the fall of 1973 Harris and Eleanor sold the farm and moved to Hammond. He accepted the job of area supervisor for the Green Thumb Program, a federally funded program that helped people over the age of 54 with general improvements in the 9-county area. He enjoyed it very much.
He was an area supervisor for 14 years. He enjoyed all sports and was the time-keeper for the Baldwin-Woodville basketball team for 17 years. He also served on the Parkview Board for a number of years.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Ina and Henry Price, and Emily and Woodrow Wilson; two brothers: Norman Albertson and Willard and Thelma Albertson; and a half-sister: Alice and Score Young.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor; his daughter, Patty and Donald Brathol of Hammond; his son, Donald H. and Pat Albertson of River Falls; nine grandchildren: Mike and Kendra Albertson of Mondovi, Randy and Pam Albertson of Altoona, Dennis Albertson and Michelle Lubinski of Hudson, Sherri Albertson of River Falls, Donald W. Albertson of St. Paul, Brian Johnson of Menomonie, Daniel and Marci Johnson of Des Moines, Barry and Kara Brathol of Somerset, Adam Brathol of Hammond; seven great-grandchildren: Nicki, Peter, Jason and Missy Albertson, Patrick and Breanna Johnson and Meghan Brathol; a sister-in-law, Pearl Albertson of River Falls, and one half-brother, Alfred and Ferris Landaal of River Falls.
Funeral was to be Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m., at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church north of Woodville with the Rev. Wayne Hilgendorf officiating. Organist was Jeanne Steffen and vocalist was grandson Mike Albertson, with congregational singing.
Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Harris' grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred.
