Peter Dunda, 85, Chisholm, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Heritage Manor Health Care Center in Chisholm. He was born July 10, 1921, in Chisholm to Stefan and Mary Dunda. He married Anna Gervol. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran. Peter retired from U. S. Steel and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the former St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Church of Chisholm. He enjoyed his family and friends, gardening, fishing and sharing it with all. He also liked to cut and haul wood, was a great storyteller and enjoyed an occasional malted beverage.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; children: Matthew (Caroline), Stefan (Elaine), Peggy (Tom) Pitts, Peter (Barbara); grandchildren: Tracy, Nicola, Amy, Jake, Hannah, Chloe and Luke; great-grandchildren, Katie and Alex; sisters, Pearl Cobetto, Annie Rautiola, and Helen Fryckman; one sister-in-law, Della Dunda; numerous nieces, nephews; and good friends, Byron Zeman and Bobby Hydukovich.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Nick and Mike; sisters, Mary Bradach and Eva Skramstad.
