Robert Strunk
Robert E. Strunk of Springfield died April 18 of heart failure. He was 90. A memorial service is planned for later.
He was born Feb. 24, 1922, in Walton to Edward and Mae Howard Strunk. He married Wilsie "Betty" Edwards on June 24, 1946, in Reno, Nev.
He held a master's degree from Oregon State University. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked as a high school teacher, a millwright and a diesel mechanic.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard of Springfield; two daughters, Carol Patch of Portland and Gerry Dykstra of Junction City; a sister, Lena Warden of Halsey; and two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. A grandson, Christopher Teem, died previously.
