Lemuel (went by Lem) G. Faw was the sixth of eight known children of Daniel Faw (1795-1844) and Anna Blackburn (c1797-1873), who married 13 Sep 1818 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. It is not known where Daniel is buried.
Lem moved from North Carolina to Texas where he joined the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Lem married Hannah Mary Easley (1844-1942) on 28 Feb 1870 at Grimes County, Texas. Lem and Mary were the parents of four known children, namely:
1. Lemuel Blackburn Faw (1871-p1912)
2. Anselm Easley Faw (1872-1961)
3. Hannah Marjorie Faw (1875-1959)
4. Lina Forsyth Faw (1877-1885)
In 1880 the parents and all four children were living at Grimes County, Texas. Mary was a widow in 1900.
Lem's grave marker does not list any dates on it. It says 4 Sgt., Company B., 1st Texas Heavy Artillery CSA (Confederate States of America).
