John Dague was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 11, 1862, the son of Jonas and Dinah Miller Dague (fag memorial 30148351). His wife Rebecca F. Boitnott Dague was born in Iowa. They were married on January 11, 1883 at Maxwell, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived in Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and in 1915 they moved to Poplar Township in Cass County, MN. John lived the balance of his life in Cass and Wadena County. He farmed most of his life except for a few years of his young life when he was employed by the railroad. John served as trustee and a member of the church board, town board and school board in Poplar Township for many years. He was a very patient, congenial, kind and good neighbor and a father that shall never be forgotten by those who loved him.

John died May 30, 1952 at the age of 90 in Wadena township after having been ill for ten days. Funeral services from Christian and Missionary Alliance church in Verndale and interment in Greenlawn cemetery.

John and Rebecca were the parents of nine children. William, Charles, Ralph, John Earl, Mabel, Lawrence, Nellie, Cora, and Milford. John was also survived by a brother Henry Dague of Elgin, IL.
