Joseph O. McHugh, 82, of 140 W. Main St., died at Calumet Memorial Hospital Thursday morning. He had been in failing health for two years and was a patient at the hospital one week.
Born in the town of Chilton March 14, 1881, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dennis McHugh. He was a millwright for the Aluminum Specialty Co. until his retirement 15 years ago. For many years he served as a trustee for St. Augustine’s parish.
He married the former Sarah Harlow on June 24, 1911, at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. She died Nov. 23, 1950.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Marie) Thiel, Manitowoc; a son, Harold McHugh of Chilton and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Pfeffer Funeral home and at St. Augustine Church, the Rev. Roland Ahearn, pastor officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
