Pamela Denise Price Adams of Ewing, Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Tennova Residential Hospice in Knoxville, TN. She was the daughter of Lynette Wilder Price and Tilman Wayne Price of Middlesboro, Kentucky and the loving wife of Kenneth Ray Adams of Ewing, VA. She is preceded in death by her grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

She was born February 5, 1959, attended schools in Middlesboro and graduated as valedictorian of her high school class. She attended the University of KY earning a BS in Civil Engineering and began a career as project manager with Vaughn & Melton Consulting Engineers. Pam became a Registered Professional Engineer licensed in four states and belonged to multiple Engineering societies. Pam designed and facilitated many engineering projects mostly for the improvement of water or sewer systems. She retired from her engineering career in 2002 to enjoy travel with her husband, usually accompanied by their chocolate lab Tia Maria.

Pam gave back to her community through her volunteer work. She packaged relief supplies at her churches' Sager Brown Depot, helped restore New Orleans homes following hurricane Katrina, and was proud of her Volunteer of the Year award from the Cooperative Christian Ministry. She participated in and sometimes organized work efforts to help folks of her church and helped at several repair affairs. Pam was an active and devoted member of the Covenant United Methodist Church in Middlesboro and a charter member of the Covenant Gap CARE Group. Her long illness did not stop her from helping others. She participated in four clinical research trials and, although they did not result in a positive way for her, the work will further aid in finding treatments for others who have her disease.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Ray Adams; her loving parents, Lynette and Wayne Price; her daughter, Tamera Paige (William) Campbell; her grandson, Alex Campbell; her aunts, Carla Mae Bailey, Amanda Myers, and Dean (Paul) Smith; special friend, Susan Bacquet Williamson, and a host of cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be 4:05 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Covenant United Methodist Church with Dr. Phil Hill officiating. Music will be provided by Terry and Pam Lewis and Covenant United Methodist Church Choir. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Covenant United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge, 2008 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203.

Shumate Funeral Home is entrusted with all arrangements.
