MRS. JAMES E. ALSOBROOK
Catherine Weidner Alsobrook, wife of James E. Alsobrook, of the Standard-Coosa-Thatcher forces, died Friday afternoon while seemingly convalescent from an operation. She was the daughter of the late Michael G. Weidner, long prominent in the civic affairs of this community and one of the founders of the great boiler works which bears his name. Dying in her twenty-sixth year, with life begun so worthily and with many years of promise apparently before her, the passing of this young wife and mother is peculiarly shocking. The exceptional charm of her manner; the warmth of her generous affection for those about her; and the sterling traits of her character endeared her to a wide circle of friends.
She leaves surviving her an infant daughter, Anne L.; her husband; three sisters, Mrs. Anne Hanley, Mrs. Dorothy Farley and Mrs. Myra Steiner, all of this city; four brothers, Michael and William, of Chattanooga, and George L., El Paso, Tex., and John, of Baton Rouge. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock from SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic church. The Rt. Rev. Monsignor Sullivan will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet cemetery. Pallbearers will be as follows: Active: Joseph Stagmaier, Herschell Page, Joseph Dineen, John Maycann, Dr. E. B. Krug and Emil S. Davis. Honorary: F. T. Hannon, Joseph Rea, Frank Steiner, R. D. Sloan, Lester Gill, Neal McDaid, Patrick D. Crowe and William Krug.
