Angie Watkins - Sales Clerk

Angie Tarter Meece Watkins, Richardson Drive, Somerset, died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home. She was 83.

A Pulaski County native, she was born April 18, 1916, daughter of the late Corel and Bannie Norfleet Tarter. She was a sales clerk, and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane (and Oscar) Hornsby, Somerset; a brother, Kenneth Tarter, Lincoln Park, Mich.; two sisters, Ada Hughes and Thelma Wall, both of Somerset; and two grandchildren, Mary Jill Hornsby Stedder and Cindy Jane Hornsby Wise, both of Lexington; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lonnie Meece, and her second husband, Paul Watkins; her parents; three brothers, Glen, Leonard and Norman Tarter; and three sisters, Beatrice Hughes, Ophea McFall Burkett and Eula Tarter Halcomb.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with the Revs. Bill Adcock and Jim Fields officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
