She was born in Greensburg, daughter of the late James and Bertha George.
She attended school in Baton Rouge and was a faithful member of Rock Zion Baptist Church, led by Pastor Excell Payne, where she served on several committees.
A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she is survived by nine children and spouses, Sidney Jr. and Vivian of Kennett, Mo., Donald Ray and Donna, Larry and Sandra of Memphis, Tenn., Gary and Kevin, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., Terry of Baton Rouge, Carolyn and Joseph Jackson, Tonie and Nelson Tyler of Baton Rouge, and Patricia of Houston; two brothers, Leroy and wife Mary of Baton Rouge and Robert and wife Margaret of Colorado Springs; a sister, Myrtis Snell of Plaquemine; four aunts, Leola Lawrence, Lora Sanfie, Baton Rouge, Lucy Edwards, Greensburg, and Carrie Edwards, Atlantic City, N.J.; 21 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
