Age 67, son of the late Erbin and Izona Brewer Tharp. For 20 years, he had owned and operated Chuck's Auto Body. He graduated from Academy High School in 1954. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea. He enjoyed working on automobiles.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Mark and Scott Tharp; a daughter, Vicki Ann Tharp; four sisters, Addie Robinson, Nancy Baker, Gladys Howard and Lizzie Potter; and two brothers, Roy and Virgil Tharp.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Marie Alfieri Tharp; two daughters, Linda Hart and her husband, Robert, and Julie McCreary, all of Erie; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Tharp of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, John Tharp of Kentucky and Earl Tharp of Spartansburg; a sister, Fern Emerick of Warren, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
