Judith Carol Joens, the daughter of Charles Field and Sara Lenore Coppess Schoonover, was born August 14, 1930 in Gary, Indiana and died March 17, 2011 at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 80 years, 7 months, and 3 days.

Judy was confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She attended Guthrie Center Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1948. Following graduation she was employed at Chase's Super Value as well as the five and dime in Guthrie Center where she met Paul, the love of her life.

On May 29, 1949 she was united in marriage to Paul W. Joens at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Five children Dennis, Paulette, Kim, Jerry and Tena were born to this union. They lived in rural Audubon and Judy was a homemaker raising their children.

In 1962, they moved to Audubon. Judy was employed at the local grocery stores for several years. She then worked in Manning, Iowa at Nelson Manufacturing and later worked at General Electric in Carroll, Iowa for over twenty years until she retired. During retirement they did some traveling and enjoyed going to auctions.

Paul died April 15, 2002. Judy enjoyed her home until she moved to the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa in July of 2010.

Judy was member of the First United Methodist Church in Audubon.

She loved to go to auctions, garage sales, and collect glassware. She enjoyed her home and her beautiful yard.

She was a member of many card clubs and enjoyed her many social activities. She enjoyed her circle of friends but most of all she loved her family.

Preceding her in death is her husband Paul W. Joens; her granddaughter Heather Joens; her infant grandson; her parents; her sister Phyllis Morgan; and her brother Melvin Schoonover.
