Weirsdale- Passed away at her home on July 5, 2012. Mrs. Freel was born at her home in Cedar Rapids, IA on July 5, 1930 to William Joseph and Catherine Marie Dickson. On Dec. 24, 1950 she married the love of her life, Herbert Lyle Freel. They lived in Iowa until 1979 when they moved to Ocklawaha, FL. Besides her loving husband of 61 years, Mrs. Freel is survived by sons, Bill (Megan) Freel and Steve (Janis) Freel; daughters, Nancy (Eddie) Shelton, Dana (Pat) Telese, and Denise (David) Enochs; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Freel. Visitation will be one hour prior (10:00 AM) to the service on Saturday, July 7, 2012 11:00 AM at Ocklawaha United Methodist Church. Vault interment will be at Candler Cemetery, Candler, FL. In lieu of flowers, Darlene can be celebrated with contributions to Ocklawaha United Methodist Church.
