(1871 - 1932)

MACKEY RITES WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY

Funeral services for Charles H. Mackey, 60 year old railroad company lineman who was killed Saturday afternoon when the motor driven speedster on which he was riding was struck by an automobile driven by Victor Zunker at Twenty-first and Franklin streets, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Frazier mortuary. Burial will take place at Evergreen cemetery. The remains will be removed from the home to the Frazier mortuary at ten tomorrow morning, where they may be viewed up to the time of the funeral.

Mr. Mackey was a resident of Manitowoc for the past 26 years, coming to Manitowoc in 1906. He was born in Eau Claire on November 11, 1871 and spent his early life there. For many years he was employed by the Chicago and North Western Railroad company and was engaged in duties for that company when he received the injuries which brought almost instant death. The death was held to be accidental by authorities and no inquest will be held, District Attorney L.F. Fischer said.

Besides his wife whom he married on May 10, 1898, Mr. Mackey is survived by a son, Elden, of Chicago and one sister, Mrs. Clara Windstrum, Norway, Michigan.

Fraternally, Mr. Mackey was associated with the local lodges of the Odd Fellows and the Knights of Pythias who will be in charge of the last rites. Rev. William Wilson will officiate.
