(1864 - 1927)

FORMER COUNTY MAN IS DEAD AT DENMARK HOME

Manitowoc county friends and relatives of Charles Madenwald, former resident, were grieved today to learn of his death at Denmark this morning.

Mr. Madenwald conducted a cheese factory at Brillion for eighteen years, leaving there 18 years ago to go to Denmark where he lived with his son, George, and at whose home death took place. He is known in this city also.

Mrs. Madenwald found her husband dead this morning, death having overtaken him while at rest last night. He had been ailing for more than a year but continued to work.

Mr. Madenwald was born in Germany and was 67 at the time of death. His early years were spent in this county, living at Brillion up until 18 years ago, then moving to Denmark with his family. He had been employed by the Pet Condensed Milk company in that city.

Surviving are his wife, who was Tina Stern before their marriage 37 years ago, a daughter, Mrs. Albert Dusold of this city, four sons, Charles of Milwaukee, Reuben and Nelson of Manitowoc and George, of Denmark, with whom he made his home. A brother, Albert, at Oshkosh and a sister, Mrs. Fred Boldt of Sheboygan, and four grandchildren also survive.

Funeral arrangements have not been made. It is possible the body will be brought to this city for burial.
