IONE MADENWALD
(1896 - 1964)

Mrs. Reuben Madenwald, 67, of 1208 Green St., Manitowoc, died Thursday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a stroke.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. L. H. Koeninger officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The former Ione Drews, was born Sept. 7, 1896, at Cooperstown, daughter of the late Richard and Amy Kahrs Drews. She was married to Mr. Madenwald at Menominee, Mich. March 27, 1918. Mr. and Mrs. Madenwald were in charge of the Manitowoc County Hospital for more than a quarter of a century. He was superintendent and Mrs. Maldenwald acting superintendent for a short while after her husband's death in 1955.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles M. Dorward of Whitefish Bay, Wis.; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur DeNeveu of Milwaukee, Mrs. Oscar Kleinbauer and Mrs. Roy Neleson of Manitowoc and two grandchildren. A son, a brother and three sisters preceded her in death.

Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Hoome, Ninth Street entrance, Manitowoc, from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday. At 10:30 a.m. Monday the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until time of service.

Memorials may be made to Children's Friends Society and Home For Aged, Wauwatosa.
