TAKE TRAIN AT NEWTON STATION AND THUS HIRAM MADSON & BRIDE ELUDED FRIENDS, WEDDED MONDAY

Fearful lest their friends carry into execution some of the "dire" plans which they had threatened, Miss Bessie Kratz and Hiram Madson, who were married Monday afternoon drove to Newton station and caught the southbound train for Chicago where they will spend their honeymoon. Friends of the couple assembled at the afternoon train and awaited the coming of the bridal party in rain.

Miss Kratz and Mr. Madson were wed at the home of Chief Kratz late in the afternoon on Monday, the Rev. Preuss of the First Norwegian Church officiating. Attending the bride and groom were Miss Nell Kratz and Archie Madson, sister and brother respectively of the couple.

The ceremony was performed in the parlor of the home which was prettily decorated in bride's roses and wedding bells, the couple being stationed in an alcove arranged in a corner with a large wedding bell suspended overhead. The bride wore a dress of pink silk with net covering and her maid was also attired in pink silk.

The couple will be home at 504 St. Clair Street after May 15. Mrs. Madson is one of Manitowoc's popular Northside ladies and since her residence in this city has made hosts of friends who will voice sincere congratulations. She is a graduate of the Wisconsin Business College and has been a stenographer in the office of Markham & Markham. Mr. Madson is a son of Cornelius Madson and enjoys a wide acquaintance who will wish him success and happiness.
