Martha L. Maertz, 88, of Manitou Manor Apartments, Manitowoc, died early Thursday evening, May 2, at Manitowoc Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Arno J. Wolfgramm will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Maertz, nee Martha L. Cootway, was born May 11, 1896, at Brown County, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Boucholtz Cootway. She married Albert C. Maertz on December 22, 1921, at Menominee, Michigan. The couple made their home in Whitelaw and the Manitowoc area. He preceded her in death December 9, 1968. Mrs. Maertz was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member and past president of the Germania Society.
Survivors include nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church after 11 a.m. on Saturday.
There will be no Friday evening visitation. Pfeffer Funeral Home of Manitowoc is in charge of arrangements.
