Guy L. Maertz, age 57, of 1505 Dewey Street, Manitowoc, died late Thursday evening, February 20, 1992, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 1:30 pm. Monday, February 24, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Glenn H. Unke will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

He was born July 3, 1934 at Manitowoc, son of Isabel Folletz Maertz and the late Wilbur Maertz. He grew up and attended local Manitowoc schools and gradated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1952. He was an employee of the Water Care Corporation of Manitowoc for the past 28 years. He was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed bowling. He was married to Beverly A. Hrudka November 11, 1961 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; his mother, Isabel Maertz of Manitowoc; one son, Steven Maertz of Madison; one daughter, Sharon Maertz of Manitowoc; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Mannen Maertz of Milwaukee, Hal and Marlene Maertz of Muskegon, Mich., Raul and Karen Maertz of Manitowoc; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Doris and Clarence Seilhausen of Milwaukee, Ruth and Georg Wood of Little Suamico, Wis., Charlotte and Eugene Hronek of Ashwaubenon, Wis., W. Judy Mertz of Belvidere, Ill., Leola and Edward Schilling of Fond du Lac, WIs.; two godchildren, Kim Hrudka Smith of Knoxville, Tenn., Lynn Hrudka of rural Manitowoc, Wis. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Paul and one sister, Meryl Haag.

Memorials would be appreciated for the Organ Fund at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.

Friends may call at the church on Monday at 11:30 a.m. until the time of services at 1:30 p.m. Reinbold Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home of Manitowoc assisted the family with arrangements.
