Alfred Arthur Deacon was born January 12, 1983, the fifth child of Richard Deacon and Mary McBeth Deacon of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Alfred Deacon was a riverboat captain, operating the Hudson's Bay Company steamer along the McKenzie River to Fort McPherson. On August 14, 1907, Alfred A. Deacon married Florence Elsie Plant of Ontario. They had five children: Richard Albert, Florence Theresa, Vida Elsie, Arthur Ross, and Roy Charlton. Alfred Deacon died July 25, 1968.
