Mary L. Brenke, age 93 of Le Sueur, died on Monday, August 18, 2014 at her home in Le Sueur surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22 at St. Paul’s U.C.C. in Henderson with Rev. Jean Sidner officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur and will continue one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery in Le Sueur with a lunch following the burial back at the church in Henderson.

Mary was born on April 16, 1921 to Louis and Margaret (Carter) Rademacher in Le Sueur County. She married Edwin “Ted” Brenke on January 11, 1947 at the St. Paul’s Church of Christ parsonage in Henderson. They farmed in Henderson Township, Sibley County for 15 years and moved to Le Sueur in 1963. Mary enjoyed watching the Twins, playing cards, doing word search puzzles and visiting with and being around people. She was also known for her baking back in her younger years and was especially known for her special K bars and pies.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Lucy (Richard) Tupy of Le Sueur and Son, Ivan (Merylee) Brenke of Excelsior; 7 grandchildren, Troy Jones, Joel (Julie) Jones, Tammy (Jason) Borchardt, Nick (Chasity) Jones, Heather (Scott) Hornaman, Ryan Brenke and Shawna (Virgil) Rannow, Jr.; 2 step-grandchildren, Kimberly and Kevin Johnson 16 great-grandchildren, Jordyn Douglas, Taylor Jones, Hunter & Gavin Jones, Alexander Mitchell & Makenna Borchardt, Samantha & Brianna Jones, Eli Braun, Hunter, Kellen & Noah Hornaman, Desiree, Megan & Cameron Rannow; 2 great great-grandchildren, Landyn and Letti; siblings, Anna Mae Brenke of St. Peter, Joyce Arns of Shakopee and Willmar (Mary) Rademacher of North Mankato.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin “Ted” Brenke; 4 brothers, Harold, Edward, Bud and Allen Rademacher and step-grandson, Richard L. Tupy, Jr.
