A Celebration of his life will be held October 19, at the Presbyterian Church of Le Sueur at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior.
Richard was born to Oswald and Erma La Fevre on March 14, 1929. His family moved to Belle Plaine for a few years in the mid 1940s when he attended school there for his 7th and 8th grades. He graduated from Le Sueur High School and married Gloria (Toody) Pockrandt on May 20, 1951. He was employed with Northwestern Bell, his mentor, Norris Doppy Distel, and retired from a distinguished sales career at Minnegasco.
Community involvement was a priority as evidenced by his involvement in Le Sueur Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Chamber of Commerce, Le Sueur County Sheriffs Posse, Le Sueur Saddle Club and Presbyterian Church Elder and Trustee.
In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to Smile Network or donors choice. There are friends, there is family and then there are friends that become family... Dick will be missed by many, but especially by Kim and Steve Hammes and their children Mitchell, Max and Elle; special friend, Eunice Lueck; and brother-in-law, Wilfred (Sonny) and Norma Pockrandt. He is finally reunited with his parents; brother, Dale; precious Toody; and beautiful daughter, Sue. Happy Trails...
