Steven M. Carryl, 28, Exeland, died early Saturday, Oct. 11, as a result of injuries received in a one car accident near Exeland.

Steven Michael was born December 16, 1951, the son of Neal B. Carryl and Dorothy Sander. He was a 1970 graduate of Winter High School and a Viet Nam Army veteran. He received his associate degree from Rice Lake Vocational Technical School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout at Menomonie. On December 4, 1976 Steven was married to Lori Boss at Couderay.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Adam; his mother, Dorothy Tate of Exeland; two brothers, Jim Tate of Exeland and Neal (Butch) Carryl of Jackson, WY; two sister, Jennifer Tate of Exeland and Sheryl McFadden of Tonapah, AZ; his maternal grandmother, Luzenia Sander of Couderay; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 13 from St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Couderay, Rev. Fr. Francis Pakosta was the celebrant. Burial was at the Couderay Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Radisson Post #297. Visitation was held Sunday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Hayward with a Bible Vigial Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m.

Casket bearers were Art Hemminger, Tom Mapes, Bruce Cody, Rocky Aken, Sam Clements and Lou Seffinga.
