Fought under General John Daniel Imboden and Jubal Anderson Early in the Valley Campaign. He was postmaster in Quicksburg, VA after the Civil War, member of the Turner Ashby Camp UCV, Winchester, VA, and a dedicated fundraiser for monuments in the Shenandoah Valley.
